In this study, researchers used Leech's theory which consists of ten maxims of language politeness. The type of research used is a qualitative descriptive method. Data analysis techniques use descriptive analytical techniques, then the data validity technique used is source triangulation. The type of research used is library research and the method used is a qualitative descriptive method. In this study, the data used are words, sentences, complete paragraphs and quotations that describe the needs of the characters in the novel Seperti Hujan yang Jatuh Ke Bumi by Boy Candra, using Abraham Maslow's humanistic psychology theory. The data collection technique in this study is the analytical intensive reading technique and the note-taking technique. The data analysis technique used is to focus on revealing and understanding more deeply about humanistic psychology involving the characters of the characters. The results of the study show that the four main characters in the novel Seperti Hujan yang Jatuh Ke Bumi, namely Kevin, Nara, Juned and Tiara have needs that can be divided into two categories, namely physiological needs and psychological needs. According to Maslow, these needs are the basis of human behavior that drives individuals to achieve personal goals and happiness. The data source in this research is the novel 172 Days by Nadzira Shafa published by Motivaksi Inspir, Banjar, West Java, in 2022 with a page thickness of 241 pages. The type of research used in this paper is field research using qualitative methods supported by quantitative analysis in describing the level of sustainability of its vocabulary. The data collection technique uses a questionnaire. The sample in this study was 22 students of class VIII-3 of SMP Negeri 1 Wadaga. The instrument used to collect data in this study was the effectiveness of learning to write poetry texts using audio-visual media given to students in the form of a written test. Based on the results of data analysis, it can be concluded that student learning outcomes are classified as very effective because they reach an effectiveness level of 100%. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengkaji pengaruh penerapan model Project-Based Learning (PjBL) terhadap kemampuan menulis teks puisi siswa kelas XI di SMA Negeri 1 Percut Sei Tuan. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah seluruh siswa kelas XI yang berjumlah 355 orang. Dari jumlah tersebut, diambil sampel sebanyak 72 siswa yang dibagi menjadi dua kelompok, yaitu kelas eksperimen dan kelas kontrol, masing-masing terdiri dari 36 siswa. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah metode eksperimen dengan desain <em data-start="660" data-end="694">pre-test post-test control group</em>. Instrumen yang digunakan untuk mengukur kemampuan menulis teks puisi siswa adalah tes esai. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa: 1) Kemampuan menulis teks puisi siswa di kelas kontrol yang tidak menggunakan model Project-Based Learning (PjBL) tergolong rendah dengan nilai rata-rata 69,16. 2) Sebaliknya, kemampuan menulis teks puisi siswa di kelas eksperimen yang menerapkan model PjBL tergolong baik dengan nilai rata-rata 85,27. Hal ini menunjukkan bahwa skor kelas eksperimen lebih tinggi dibandingkan dengan kelas kontrol. Berdasarkan analisis uji-t dengan tingkat signifikansi α = 0,05 dan n = 36 diperoleh nilai <em data-start="1315" data-end="1324">t-tabel</em> = 2,02809. Hasil analisis menunjukkan bahwa <em data-start="1369" data-end="1379">t-hitung</em> = 9,975 lebih besar dari <em data-start="1405" data-end="1414">t-tabel</em> = 2,02809, yang berarti hipotesis nol (Ho) ditolak dan hipotesis alternatif (Ha) diterima. Sumber data dalam penelitian ini berasal dari lirik lagu <em data-start="165" data-end="194">Fortunately Life Must Go On</em> karya Bernadya, dengan fokus pada kata dan kalimat yang digunakan dalam lirik lagu tersebut. Teknik pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan metode dokumentasi untuk mengumpulkan informasi terkait lagu, seperti judul, lirik, durasi, penulis, dan informasi relevan lainnya. Selain itu, penelitian ini juga melibatkan studi pustaka untuk mencari literatur yang membahas teori atau pendekatan yang berkaitan dengan analisis lagu. Metode simak digunakan untuk mengamati lirik lagu secara cermat, sedangkan teknik pencatatan digunakan untuk merekam temuan dari hasil pengamatan berupa deskripsi kalimat yang mengandung kata dan kalimat bergaya bahasa. Hasil analisis menunjukkan bahwa gaya bahasa yang digunakan dalam lirik lagu tersebut meliputi metafora, repetisi, personifikasi, dan simbolisme. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah metode kualitatif. Teknik pengumpulan data melalui teknik simak dan catat. Sumber data dalam penelitian ini adalah naskah drama “Mamas” karya Bode Riswandi. Hasil analisis menunjukkan bahwa "Mamas" mencerminkan realitas sosial yang kompleks, ketika birokrasi digambarkan sebagai institusi yang korup dan tidak efisien, serta lebih mementingkan kepentingan individu daripada kesejahteraan masyarakat. Drama ini juga menyoroti bagaimana sistem hukum sering kali gagal dalam menyelesaikan konflik sosial, dengan hakim yang menyerah pada situasi yang tidak dapat diselesaikan. Selain itu, karakter pengacara dalam naskah menunjukkan bahwa keadilan sering kali dipandang sebagai ladang bisnis, bukan sebagai prioritas. Drama ini mengisahkan tentang Mastodon sebagai simbol dari pemerintahan yang serakah dan korup yang menindas rakyatnya, sementara Burung Kondor melambangkan masyarakat yang tertindas dan hidup dalam kemiskinan akibat keserakahan pemerintah. Secara keseluruhan, naskah ini menjadi kritik terhadap ketimpangan sosial, keserakahan para penguasa, serta penderitaan rakyat yang menjadi korban dari sistem pemerintahan yang tidak adil. Teknik yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah analisis klausa dalam kalimat majemuk. Hal ini dilakukan dengan cara membaca novel <em data-start="489" data-end="507">Layar Terkembang</em>, kemudian dianalisis oleh peneliti terkait klausa dalam kalimat majemuk, khususnya pada Bab 2 novel tersebut. Berdasarkan temuan penelitian, terdapat 4 klausa bebas dan 2 klausa terikat dalam kalimat majemuk setara. Selain itu, terdapat 6 klausa terikat dan tidak ditemukan klausa bebas dalam kalimat majemuk bertingkat. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian pengembangan (<em data-start="201" data-end="231">Research and Development/R&amp;D</em>) dengan menggunakan model penelitian Borg and Gall yang tahapannya telah disederhanakan agar sesuai dengan kebutuhan dan keterbatasan penelitian ini. Adapun tahapan yang dilakukan dalam penelitian ini meliputi: a) potensi dan masalah, b) pengumpulan data, c) desain produk, d) validasi produk, dan e) revisi produk.</p> <p data-start="549" data-end="855">Subjek dalam penelitian pengembangan ini adalah validator ahli materi, validator ahli media, dan guru mata pelajaran Bahasa Indonesia di UPT SMP Negeri 37 Medan. Teknik pengumpulan data yang digunakan adalah observasi, wawancara, dan penyebaran angket kepada siswa untuk mengetahui kebutuhan belajar siswa. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa produk yang dikembangkan, yaitu bahan ajar puisi rakyat berbasis video yang dibantu oleh aplikasi <em data-start="994" data-end="1004">Vlog Now</em>, termasuk dalam kualifikasi sangat layak dengan nilai dari validator materi sebesar 75%, nilai dari validator media sebesar 100%, serta penilaian dari guru mata pelajaran sebesar 78%. Nilai rata-rata keseluruhan yang diperoleh adalah 84,3%. This study analyzed the drama "Mastodon and Condor" written by W.S. Rendra using the genetic structuralism approach introduced by Lucien Goldmann. This approach was chosen because it is suitable to show how this drama depicts humanitarian issues, the author's views, and social groups in the context of Indonesia during the New Order period. &nbsp;This analysis uses key concepts from Lucien Goldmann's theory of genetic structuralism, with a focus on the fact of humanity, the author's worldview, and the collective group. The results of the study show that this drama not only features dramatic conflict, but also provides philosophical, moral, and spiritual reflections on the fate of humans in an oppressive system. Rendra using a sociology of literature approach. The purpose of this study is to analyze the characteristics of the character of Jose Karosta, identify the social criticism represented through the character, and examine the relationship between the character of Jose Karosta and the socio-political conditions of Indonesia at the time the script was written. This study uses a qualitative descriptive method with content analysis techniques. Data were collected through literature studies with reading and note-taking techniques. The results of the study show that the character of Jose Karosta represents a critique of social inequality, economic imperialism, and structural injustice that occurs in society. Through the character of Jose Karosta, Rendra criticizes the dominance of foreign powers, the exploitation of natural resources, and describes the struggle of the indigenous people in facing the power of neocolonialism. The sociology of literature analysis of the character of Jose Karosta shows that W.S. Rendra uses literature as a medium of resistance against the hegemony of power and to voice the aspirations of the oppressed people. This research is a type of Classroom Action Research (PTK) with a qualitative descriptive approach. The subjects of this study were students of class VIII-F SMP Negeri 12 Malang. Sources of data in this study are observation sheets of students and teachers, questionnaires, interviews, pre-tests, post-tests, and results/products. Data collection techniques in this research are observation, interview, questionnaire, and test. The results of this study show the process of improving the ability to write poetry in class VII-F SMP Negri 12 Malang can be seen from the evaluation results which show significant developments in the ability of students to write poetry. Based on the results of the research that has been done, it can be concluded that the application of serialized images has proven effective in improving the ability of students in writing poetry. This is shown in the increase in the value of students from cycle 1 to cycle 2. The completeness value of learning outcomes in writing poetry in cycle 1 averaged 72, while the average in cycle 2 rose to 86. The use of serial image media can be applied in learning to write poetry. Based on the results of observations, several obstacles were found in reading poetry, including lack of reading fluency, low interest in poetry, limited creativity of educators in choosing learning methods, weak student motivation, and difficulty in understanding proper poetry reading techniques. To overcome these problems, classroom action research (PTK) was implemented in two cycles with six meetings. The research stages included planning, action implementation, observation, and reflection. The research subjects consisted of 26 seventh grade students. This study found that the application of the demonstration method was able to improve students' ability to read poetry. This can be seen from the increase in the average with an initial score of 54.7% in cycle I (low category) to 86.4% in cycle II (good category). Phrases as grammatical units consisting of two or more words that do not exceed the function limits of clause elements are an important aspect in the study of syntax. The research method used is a qualitative descriptive method with document analysis techniques. The results of the study show that in the lyrics of the song "Lesung Pipi" two types of phrases were found, namely endocentric phrases and exocentric phrases. The endocentric phrases found consist of nominal endocentric phrases, verbal endocentric phrases, adverbial endocentric phrases, and adjectival endocentric phrases. The distribution of endocentric phrases in the song lyrics is more dominant compared to exocentric phrases. With Tafsir Mistik by The Panturas as the object of study, the communicative messages in song lyrics can include emotions, ideas, social criticism, or perspectives on life, expressed through words and symbols. Tafsir Mistik serves as an example of a song that critiques the phenomenon of superficial thinking in the social media era. The analysis results indicate that the song’s lyrics contain various illocutionary speech acts that reinforce its social message. Self-efficacy, which refers to an individual's belief in their ability to complete a particular task, has a significant impact on the process of language acquisition, comprehension, and production. Through a literature study method by analyzing several relevant scientific articles from various leading national journals, this study identified that self-efficacy has a positive effect on language ability, language learning motivation, and communication performance. The results of the study indicate that individuals with high levels of self-efficacy tend to have more effective language learning strategies, resilience in facing linguistic difficulties, and better achievement in language tasks. The research to be carried out uses a type of qualitative research with a descriptive approach. The development model used is the ADDIE model. With techniques and data collection from interviews with teachers in the field of study, observation, documentation and questionnaires. Results of questionnaire data from media experts and material experts. Development in this research uses the ADDIE model which has three stages, namely analysis, design, development. The results of this research show that in the media expert assessment, they received a percentage score of 96.42% in the "Very Appropriate" category. In the material expert assessment, the percentage score was 82.35% in the "Very Eligible" category. The methodology used is a qualitative approach with data collection techniques using interviews with two informants from Pandeglang Regency, coupled with a literature review from various written sources. The findings of this study indicate that although both languages have a similar kinship framework, there are significant differences in aspects of greeting forms, social functions, and contexts of use. Sundanese has a higher complexity, is hierarchical, and is highly dependent on context, taking into account elements of age, emotional ties, and social status. Meanwhile, Indonesian applies a more neutral, formal, and uniform greeting system. The study also found changes in the use of traditional greeting terms among the younger generation, caused by the influence of formal education, mass media, and advances in digital communication. This study emphasizes that differences in greeting systems not only reflect the structure of the language, but also reflect the cultural values that underlie social interaction in society. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan kata-kata tabu yang dituturkan oleh guyup tutur Masyarakat Tambakasri. Sumber data penelitian ini adalah tuturan-tuturan yang dihasilkan oleh masyarakat Tambakasri. Peneliti mengggunakan Teknik observasi, simak catat, wawancara dan dokumentasi untuk mengumpulkan data. Data yang diperoleh berupa kata-kata tabu yang telah diklasifikasikan menjadi empat yaitu; kata tabu seks, kata tabu penghinaan, sirkumlokusi, dan kata tabu makian. One of those studies is a language study. Linguistic is a study of language which are many studies are studied. Pragmatic is branch of Linguistic study that learns about study in meaning. Context is very important in pragmatic study; a language cannot only interpret by its structure but also by its context in order to get the meaning. Pragmatic also learns various studies; the research uses a pragmatic approach in order to analyze the data from the research in the form of refusal of request in speech act. The research is focused on the implementation refusal of request that happened in refusing of love by women. The study is using some theories from pragmatic expert such as Levinson (1983), Searle (1985) and Yule (1996;2022) with the aim to get understanding about speech act especially in refusals form. Furthermore, the strategies of refusal are divided into two part there are direct and indirect. Discourse completion task (DCT) is the method that used by the researcher to collect the data quickly and easily. The steps of collecting the data are the researcher firstly is distributing the questionnaires to 50 respondents’ women in range of age 18-25 years old in Surakarta City, secondly the researcher is analyzing the data, and lastly the researcher is presenting the data. The result of the research is the used of indirect refusal strategy is used a lot than direct strategy. The indirect strategy is founded by 39 data consists of 25 data indirect strategy with giving alternative and 14 data indirect strategy with giving reason. Whereas, the direct strategy is founded by 11 data consist of direct negative willingness with 6 data, direct performative with 4 data, and direct negative flat with one data. The research method used is descriptive qualitative by taking data from transcripts of debate videos available on the YouTube channel. The satirical language styles analyzed include cynicism, innuendo, irony, sarcasm, satire, and antifrasis. The data collection technique used is look and note, where the researcher pays attention and notes sentences that contain innuendo. The results of the analysis show that the satirical language style is used with various meanings and purposes, such as criticizing political opponents, conveying messages indirectly, or for entertainment purposes. In an educational context that is increasingly influenced by technological advances, it is important to apply character values ​​in learning activities. The novel was chosen as an effective means of exploring relevant character values, such as honesty, intelligence, toughness, and caring. These values ​​are very important for students' personal development in facing the challenges of the times. Through the implementation of learning methods such as group discussions, problem-based learning (PBL), and project-based learning (PjBL), students are invited to analyze and discuss these values ​​and relate them to the social problems around them. In this way, it is hoped that students will not only improve their communication skills and creativity, but also strengthen the internalization of character values ​​that are important in life. The main aim of this article is to identify the role of the “Ceros and Batozar” novels in improving students' personality characteristics by highlighting the values ​​contained in the narrative, as well as how these values ​​can be internalized by readers. The research was conducted using a qualitative approach with data analysis techniques. The research employs a descriptive qualitative approach to analyze how differentiated learning strategies respond to diverse student needs, learning styles, and preferences in summarizing nonfiction articles. Data were collected through questionnaires, observations, and documentation. Students were offered three summarizing methods—oral presentation, written summary, and infographic mind map—based on their individual learning preferences. The findings show that most students preferred using infographic mind maps, reflecting a visual learning inclination, followed by oral and written formats. Each method facilitated students in expressing their comprehension effectively, contributing to higher engagement and deeper understanding. The implementation encouraged collaborative learning, improved critical thinking, and empowered students to present ideas in ways that suited their strengths. The study concludes that differentiated instruction significantly enhances student motivation, learning outcomes, and 21st-century skills development. It highlights the teacher’s role as a responsive facilitator who adapts instructional content, processes, and products to accommodate individual student profiles. This study uses the theory of toponymic aspects by Sudaryat and the theory of ecological wisdom. The research employs a qualitative descriptive method with data collection techniques including observation, interviews, listening and note-taking, and recording. The findings of this research are as follows: 1) The village names in Sei Kepayang Barat Kabupaten Asahan can be categorized based on the aspects of manifestation and culture; 2) Based on the aspect of manifestation, these village names can be divided into two categories, namely water-based (hydrological) and natural environment backgrounds, especially plants. Villages with names originating from a water-based background include Sei Lendir Village. Meanwhile, villages whose names originate from both water-based and natural environment backgrounds include Sei Jawi-Jawi, Sei Kepayang Kiri, Sei Nangka, Sei Serindan, and Sei Tualang Pandau Villages; 3) Based on the cultural aspect, the village names in Sei Kepayang Barat can be divided into two categories, namely based on the language used and myths or legends. Based on the language used, these village names originate from the Malay and Indonesian languages. The study employs a qualitative descriptive method, with data collected through literature review and document analysis. The data were analyzed by identifying syntactic functions (subject, predicate, object, complement, and adverbial), grammatical categories (nominal phrase, verbal phrase, adjectival phrase, and prepositional phrase), and the semantic roles that emerge in the sentences.The findings indicate that from the fourteen sentences analyzed, there are variations in sentence structures such as P–S–K, S–P–Pel, S–P–O, K–P–S, and more complex structures like P–S–K–Pel and compound sentences containing clauses in the forms of S–P–O and S–P–K. Subjects in the sentences are generally in the form of nominal phrases (FN), while predicates consist of verbs (V), verbal phrases (FV), and adjectival phrases (FAdj), functioning to express existence, condition, or action. Objects and complements also tend to appear as FN or FAdj, and serve semantic functions such as agent, attribute, location, instrument, or existence. These findings show that the descriptive text presents relatively varied but patterned sentence structures, with a dominance of S–P–Pel and P–S–K. The research subjects were 34 students in class VII.3 at SMP Negeri 10 Palembang. This research was conducted because student learning outcomes were low. Data collection techniques are observation and tests. This research was carried out in 2 cycles. In cycle I, only 17 students completed their studies with a percentage of 50%. In cycle II, 29 students had completed their studies with a percentage of 85%, while 5 other students had not yet completed their studies with a percentage of 14.7%. The purpose of the research is to explore the influence of word-based clues on children's memory in recognizing hijaiyah letters and to identify the psycholinguistic factors that affect the success of the learning process. The research uses a descriptive qualitative approach with observational techniques at a tutoring center for learning hijaiyah letters. The research results show that the use of clues based on familiar words, such as "bakso" for the letter ص (sho) and "soto" for the letter ط (tho), significantly enhances children's memory. Older children (5 years old) tend to understand letters more quickly compared to 4-year-olds, indicating the influence of cognitive development on learning. However, certain less familiar letters, such as ض (do), are still difficult for some children to remember. The research aims to identify and analyze the forms of linguistic interference from the students’ first language (L1) in their English production, both written and spoken. Employing a qualitative descriptive approach, data were collected through student essays, semi-structured interviews, and classroom observations. The data were analyzed using an error analysis framework based on Corder’s model, focusing on lexical, syntactic, morphological, and semantic errors. The findings reveal a consistent pattern of negative transfer, in which students directly translate Indonesian structures into English without considering structural and pragmatic differences. This study contributes to the field of second language acquisition by highlighting the persistence of L1 interference in EFL contexts and emphasizing the need for contrastive, context-based teaching strategies. The main focus of the study is to analyze how the syntactic structure of sentences affects the clarity and accuracy of information delivery in news texts. The background of this study is based on the widespread use of long and complicated sentences in online news that can hinder readers' understanding. The purpose of this study is to find ineffective sentence forms and to formulate the characteristics of syntactic structures that are able to convey information clearly and communicatively. The method used is qualitative descriptive with content analysis techniques on 20 news texts from various fields, namely politics, economics, social, and culture. The results of the analysis show that although most sentences use complex compound structures, not all of them are able to convey messages effectively. Some of the problems found include inconsistencies in the relationship between parts of the sentence, structural ambiguity, and excessive use of elements. This research aims to assess the initial Indonesian language competence of all students at UPBJJ UT Kendari—a crucial skill that must be mastered by future educators—and to identify differences in student competence across various study groups (pokjar).The sample was selected using purposive sampling, where students were chosen from pokjars representing both urban and rural areas. Six pokjars were included as samples: Sikeli and Lainea representing rural areas, Kendari representing the provincial capital, and Unaaha and Wanggudu representing district capitals. The results showed that the average scores of students in the Indonesian Language and Literature course across all sample pokjars fell into the “very good” category. The lowest average score was from the Sikeli pokjar at 85.95, while the highest was from the Unaaha pokjar at 91.92. These findings indicate that the quality of instruction at UPBJJ UT Kendari, particularly in the Indonesian Language and Literature course, is relatively even across regions. An ANOVA test revealed that, at a confidence level of α = 0.05, the F-value obtained was F&lt;sub&gt;calculated&lt;/sub&gt; = 28.74 &gt; F&lt;sub&gt;table&lt;/sub&gt; = 2.42, indicating that at least one pokjar had a significantly different average score compared to the others. A follow-up BNT (Least Significant Difference) test showed that students from the Sikeli, Kendari, and Wanggudu pokjars had significantly lower average scores compared to students from the Lainea and Unaaha pokjars. Communication barriers often hinder the academic and social development of CWSN, especially in verbal interactions. <em>Peer support</em>, rooted in social learning theory and the zone of proximal development, provides a natural and empathetic learning environment through structured interaction with peers. The findings of this study indicate that various models—such as peer tutoring, peer buddy systems, and peer-mediated instruction—significantly enhance verbal engagement, vocabulary acquisition, and social participation among CWSN. In addition to improving linguistic abilities, <em>peer support</em> also contributes to emotional security, reduces anxiety, and fosters a sense of belonging. Despite some implementation challenges, such as lack of training and institutional support, the <em>peer support</em> strategy proves to be a powerful tool in promoting inclusive and equitable education. This can be seen from the low scores of students in the ability to play one of the characters in a drama, the lack of student interest in learning drama, students still seem not confident in playing the character in the drama in class, and the learning model used is not appropriate. The purpose of this study was to find out (1) To find out how the ability to play one of the characters in a drama is for class XI students of SMK Negeri 11 Medan without using the Storytelling learning model; (2) To find out how the ability to play one of the characters in a drama is for class XI students of SMK Negeri 11 Medan using the Storytelling model; (3) To find out how the Storytelling model influences the ability to play one of the characters in a drama for class XI students of SMK Negeri 11 Medan. This study used a quasi-experimental method with a post-test two group design model. The results of the study showed that 1) The ability of class XI students of SMK Negeri 11 Medan in playing one of the characters in a drama without using the Storytelling model is included in the good category with an average value of 71.50. 2) The ability of students of class XI SMK Negeri 11 Medan in showing one of the characters in a drama using the Storytelling model is included in the very good category with an average value of 84,48. Based on the t-test, with a significance level value of α = 0.05 and n = 30, a t-table value of 2.04 was obtained. Therefore, it can be concluded that t-count&gt; t-table, which is 5.275&gt; 2.04.
